Do we need to have our pet vaccinated against rabies?
YES! According to NAC 441A.435 the owner of a dog, cat or ferret in the state of Nevada shall maintain the dog, cat or ferret currently vaccinated against rabies.

Does Nye County Animal Shelter provide animal vaccinations and spay / neuter services to the public?
Yes,
All Dog Spays/Neuters are $75.00 each
All Cat Spays/Neuters are $55.00 each
Vaccine Packages:

Rabies $10.00
FVRCP $15.00
& Microchips $20.00

Does Nye County Animal Shelter provide animal euthanasia for privately owned animals?
Yes, by appointment only. Call the shelter at (775) 751-7020 to set up an appointment. Cost is $20.

Do we need to have our dog licensed in Nye County?
Yes! All dogs over the age of 6 months old must be licensed and have it's license tag securely on him or her at all times. NCC 6.08.020
5.
How long does the Nye County Animal Shelter keep an animal before euthanization?
If an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for three working days then made available for adoption. After that, the length of time depends on space, temperament of the animal, and adoptability.
